My father used to call me a ‘precious bundle’ when I was a child. However, as well as being an idiom for ‘baby’, the word ‘bundle’ also means ‘to push or throw’. I begin Precious Bundle longing for a closer relationship with my brash but intriguing 67 year old-father. Unfortunately, the distance between us increases even further when his problematic attitudes become something I can no longer ignore. This film utilizes oneirically inspired surreal stop-motion to reflect on racial identity, rejection and the nature of forgiveness.
